i feel the same and i will spend every day that i can showing you how honored i am tha tyou're mine
i know its not the same asit would be if i were saying it in person but it bears repeating always always always i love you
[ooc: Hm. I admit to really loving the whole 'Festian equivalent of engagement is to give an important item freely' thing I've seen on Tumblr.
But I also read a fic the other day that I really loved, too. Soulmates who come into possession of items the other has lost. One doesn't believe that they deserve a soulmate and ignores the pointedly lost/sent letters the other sends, but falls in love anyway.
[ooc: Oooh, these are intriguing! I'm totally on board, with slight preference for the second—items the other has lost. (Gonna have to think hard what that would be.) Would you mind doing the set-up, so I can make sure I'm understanding the premise right?]
[ooc: Here is the fic! (I don't generally tend to read Y/N fic, but a friend reblogged and the concept sounded good, sooooooo.)
How about you tell me what you think about after you read it and we go from there? I'm totally okay with starting, but definitely want you to get the whole gist beforehand.]
[ooc: Thank you! Read it! I like it, but I am suddenly worried that Cas doesn't really keep possessions in the first place, and the few things he has are so utilitarian, he doesn't lose 'em? And I'm not sure he could trust/justify writing letters to someone?
—(Though he would of course lose things in combat and/or that he had to abandon… I guess that counts! And could be interesting: things he owned to accessorize cover identities that he then leaves behind, and they all seem to point to different people 'cause they were in character… if that makes any sense…)
This is actually my first time encountering "Y/N" in this context and I can't tell what it means! /sheepish smile/
So despite my concern, I think it could still work! :-) And if you're okay to start, I'd love to read and respond!]
[ooc: Yeah, that thought struck me, too. Although I think it could work in terms of losing or leaving behind things that belonged to alternate identities. Kind of pondering who is this person with each new thing that appears.
But ... it doesn't really work without the letters or little notes or whatever, because then they wouldn't really interact, and if they're not interacting somehow it becomes more a series of connected vignettes but not really a story involving both of them.
I'm not entirely sure how to navigate that. I'll have to ponder that, I guess.
Perhaps it's a bit ambitious to attempt with two characters who don't really own anything and try not to leave traces of themselves anywhere, ha.
Oh, it's a self-insert Your Name fic, which is surprisingly huge on Tumblr. I'm not a fan myself, I'd much rather just create an OC than that, but to each their own!]
[ooc: On second thought, I think he could write letters after all—some just might start as nonspecific/vaguely encoded? But he puts Jyn ahead of the mission several times in the film: I can totally imagine him making her an exception to his other rules too! …Oooh, especially if they begin as kids?
Ah, Y/N = Your Name! I thought it was "Yes/No" and couldn't make sense of it. ;-) Danke!]
[ooc: I'm heading to bed, but I'll most likely think about it during work and most likely come up with something. I'm sure I can swing it so that the first thing she loses is as a child.
I mean, good on these writers to write, but the whole Y/N thing really takes me out of the story. Pity, because some of the plots are super interesting and some of the writers are really good.]
But hey, I started out writing 'plays' when I was like 11, so who am I to judge?]
